R&D MIDA company to work on co-digestion of POME with biomass

A private company fully owned by the University of Nottingham Malaysia, Nottingham MyResearch Sdn. Bhd. has recently been awarded R&D Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) status.

At the event, a signing ceremony of the first MyResearch contract with Havys Oil Mill Sdn Bhd was also held.

The project will look at an integrated-aerobic bioreactor system for the treatment of palm oil mill effluent and co-digestion with underutilised crop biomass waste.

Nottingham MyResearch serves as a body to connect the business community with researchers at the University of Nottingham, both at its Malaysia campus as well as its campuses in the United Kingdom and China. The R&D MIDA status will provide the company double taxation benefits.
